Throughout the year, T- Mobile, one of America’s top four mobile networks, has been the only service provider left out of the loop to offer 4G LTE coverage. However, this will not be the case much longer, as T- Mobile plans to take over the 4G LTE markets coming in 2013. Though they are new to the 4GLTE game, T- Mobile expect their transition into this new market to be seamless and effective.
On Thursday, T- Mobile proclaimed in a press release that the company will be offering Apple devices coming in 2013, as they have recently struck a deal with Apple inc. Specifics as to which Apple devices offered has not yet been announced, but this information has been promised to be available at a later date. With Apple and T- Mobile partnering up, greater service and products are sure to reach T-Mobile customers.
If the promise of shiny new Apply products isn’t enough of a reason for T-Mobile customers to rejoice, T-Mobile plans to provide better coverage in 2013. This would be the result of a merger between T- mobile and MetroPCS. However, this news does not only affect T-Mobile customers, as MetroPCS customers will also receive the same promise of better coverage.
As the two companies await approval, the Dallas- based service provider, MetroPCS has been promoting the new optimized speed and coverage that customers would receive due to the merger. If their alliance with T- Mobile is approved, Metro promises to expand their coverage to three new locations. Two of the three rumored areas appear to be Minneapolis and New Orleans, where there is no MetroPCS coverage.
Currently, T- Mobile is running on the 42 Mbps 1900Mhz band 4G HSPA+ and is expanding to and optimizing their coverage in markets such as Baltimore, New York, New Jersey, Washington DC, and Seattle. Similarly, MetroPCS simultaneously offers customers 3G or 4G services plans in locations such as LasVegas, Boston, San Francisco, New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Central Florida, Philadelphia, Sacramento, L.A/ Bakersfield, and South Florida. Since MetroPCS and T-Mobile already service many of the same areas, the merger is sure to increase coverage and customer satisfaction.
2013 seemingly will be a superb year for T- Mobile, it’s customers and possibly their esteemed partners and adopted customers from MetroPCS.
