Interphase, a Plano-based developer of networking cards and related products, is working with semiconductor supplier MindSpeed on a new wireless base station product.

According to the firms, Interphase will be using MindSpeed’s baseband processors on its iSPAN 36701 Wireless Base Station Advanced Mazzanine Card. Both firms have said that the card provides LTE capability in conjunction with software from Aricent. The new product is being targeted for use in 4G communications networks, either as an LTE eNobeB or WiMax base station.
